This free one-hour course gives you a genuine working understanding of what quantum computers are, what they can and cannot do, and how to read the headlines critically – without requiring a physics or mathematics background.

What This Course Covers

In about an hour, you will come away able to:

  • Explain what a qubit is and how it differs from a classical bit, in plain language
  • Understand what makes quantum computers potentially powerful for certain problems
  • Distinguish what quantum computers can do today from what remains aspirational
  • Recognize why “number of qubits” is a misleading measure of progress on its own
  • Read a quantum computing announcement and separate substance from marketing

Course Outline

Part 1, The Basics (about 20 minutes)

What a qubit is. Superposition and entanglement explained intuitively, without the mathematics. How quantum computers differ from the computer on your desk. Why they are not simply faster classical computers.

Part 2, What They Can Actually Do (about 20 minutes)

The problems quantum computers are genuinely suited to: simulation, optimization, and a few others. The problems they are not suited to. What has actually been demonstrated versus what is on roadmaps. The crucial difference between physical and logical qubits.

Part 3 – Reading the Field (about 20 minutes)

How to read quantum computing news critically. Why qubit counts alone tell you little. What error correction is and why it is the central challenge. Where the technology realistically stands, and where to go next if you want to understand more.

Anyone curious about quantum computing: technology professionals, managers, investors, people studying the field, and the simply curious. No physics, mathematics, or programming background is required.

What You Will Not Find Here

This is an introduction, not a full course. It will not make you a quantum programmer or prepare you for a certification. For depth, our Quantum Computing Fundamentals course and the CQTP certification track go much further. But this free hour will give you a solid foundation and help you decide where to go next.
