These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of quantumacademy.com and the courses, certification programs, exams, memberships, and related services offered under the Quantum Academy brand (together, the “Services”). The Services are provided by Post-Quantum Institute, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Quantum Academy (“PQI,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account, enrolling in a program, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

Quantum Academy is a brand of PQI, not a separate company. PQI is the contracting party under these Terms.
2. The Services
We offer professional education and credentialing in quantum technologies, including: self-paced courses delivered through our learning platform; certification programs consisting of preparation content and a proctored exam; standalone certification exams; memberships providing ongoing access to courses and member resources; recertification for existing credential holders; and, when announced, live instructor-led sessions. Specific inclusions, prerequisites, access periods, prices, and validity periods are stated on each program page and form part of your order.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials confidential. Accounts and enrollments are personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or transferred. Course delivery uses a third-party learning platform; you may need to accept that platform’s own terms to access content.
4. Orders, prices, and payment
Prices are stated in US dollars on each program page. Where required by law, applicable taxes (such as VAT or GST) are calculated and shown during checkout.
Payment is processed at checkout by our payment provider. Where indicated at checkout, the merchant of record for your purchase is Stripe (through Stripe Managed Payments), which processes payment, calculates and remits applicable transaction taxes, and issues the transaction receipt; in those cases the entity named at checkout is the seller of record for the payment transaction, while these Terms continue to govern your access to and use of the Services.
We may correct pricing errors that are evident before fulfillment. Promotional prices apply only during the stated promotional period.
5. Access and license
On purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the purchased content for the access period stated on the program page, for your own professional education. You may not copy, record, redistribute, publicly display, scrape, or create derivative works from course content, exam content, or member resources, or use them to develop competing materials or to train machine-learning systems. All content, trademarks, and credentials remain the property of PQI or its licensors.
6. Certifications and exams
Certification exams are governed by the Candidate Guide and Exam Rules for the relevant program, which form part of these Terms for candidates. In summary: exams are proctored and time-limited; identity verification is required; collaboration, unauthorized materials, and disclosure or reproduction of exam content are prohibited; and we may withhold, invalidate, or revoke results and credentials for violations, with appeal rights as described in the Candidate Guide.
Credentials are valid for the period stated for the program (typically three years) and are renewed through recertification. We may publish a verification record (credential, holder name, validity dates) so that employers can verify your credential; you can ask us to remove your name from public verification at any time.
Important: Quantum Academy certifications are private, professional credentials issued by PQI. They are not government-issued licenses, accredited academic degrees, or academic credit, and earning one does not guarantee employment, promotion, compensation, or any regulatory outcome.
7. Memberships, renewals, and cancellation
Memberships and any other auto-renewing plans renew automatically at the end of each term until cancelled. Renewal terms, price, and how to cancel are disclosed at sign-up and in your confirmation email, and are governed by our Cancellation, Renewal & Trial Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You can cancel online at any time with effect from the end of the current term.
8. Refunds and withdrawal
Refunds, and the statutory withdrawal rights of consumers in the EU, UK, and other jurisdictions, are governed by our Refund Policy and Digital Access & Fulfillment Policy, which form part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by: attempting to access accounts, content, or systems you are not authorized to access; interfering with the operation or security of the Services; harassing other learners, instructors, or staff; submitting unlawful or infringing content; or using the Services in violation of export-control or sanctions laws. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, with a refund only where required by law or by our Refund Policy.
10. Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party providers, including our learning platform, payment processing, and email delivery. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, but we choose providers carefully and remain responsible to you for the Services as described in these Terms.
11. Educational purpose; no professional advice
The Services are educational and informational only. They are not legal, regulatory-compliance, engineering, or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for professional judgment applied to your specific situation. Examples, frameworks, and timelines discussed in courses reflect the state of public knowledge at the time of recording and carry inherent uncertainty.
12. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that course content will achieve any particular professional result for you.
For consumers in the EU/EEA and UK: you have statutory remedies where digital content does not conform to the contract; those rights are not affected by this section.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenues; and (b) our total liability arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer law.
14. Indemnity
If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, that organization will indemnify PQI against third-party claims arising from your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law. This section does not apply to consumers where prohibited.
15. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We may improve, modify, or retire features of the Services. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will post the updated Terms with a new Effective Date and, for material changes affecting active subscriptions or programs, notify you by email in advance. Continued use after the Effective Date constitutes acceptance; if you do not agree, stop using the Services and, where a change materially reduces a paid Service mid-term, contact us for a remedy consistent with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except that if you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you retain the protection of the mandatory laws of, and the right to bring proceedings in, your country of residence. Before formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by contacting admin@postquantum.org. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s online dispute-resolution platform.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to you. These Terms, together with the policies they reference and your order details, are the entire agreement between you and PQI for the Services.
