CPE credits

Earn CPE credits toward the certifications you already hold in our live courses and free webinars. We count one credit for each 60 minutes of teaching.

You earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits in our live online and in-person courses and in our free webinars. You claim them with your certifying body, such as ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA, GIAC or PMI. None of these bodies pre-approves training providers. Each one accepts relevant training from any provider, with your certificate as evidence.

How we count credits

One CPE credit is 60 minutes of teaching. Teaching includes instruction, exercises, and questions and answers. Breaks and lunch don’t count, and we round down to the nearest quarter credit. A four-hour course with one 15-minute break earns 3.75 credits.

Each course page shows its credits, by format where they differ. Your certificate shows your teaching minutes as well as your credits. If your certifying body counts a credit as 50 minutes, as ISACA does, you can convert the minutes yourself.

What your certificate shows

  • your name, the course or webinar, and the dates you attended
  • the format: live online, in person or private team training
  • your teaching minutes and your CPE credits
  • a certificate number and the signature of Marin Ivezic, founder of Quantum Academy

Register under the name your certifying body holds, so your certificate matches its records.

How to claim your credits

Log the course with your certifying body under its rules, and keep your certificate. A few bodies ask for more:

  • ISC2 courses in your credential’s domains count as Group A, and other professional development counts as Group B.
  • ISACA from 1 January 2027, at least 90 of your 120 cycle hours must match your certification’s exam content outline.
  • CompTIA upload the course outline with your certificate. You’ll find the outline on each course page.
  • GIAC courses count under Other InfoSec Related Training, and webinars under Community Participation.

Which credentials our courses match

Our post-quantum courses match the security domains of these certifications’ exams. The CISSP exam outline, for example, lists quantum cryptographic methods and quantum key distribution in objective 3.6.

Our quantum technology courses, such as Quantum Computing Fundamentals, earn credits the same way. ISC2 counts them as professional development, and other certifying bodies set their own rules.

Free webinars

Our free webinars last 60 minutes: about 45 minutes of teaching, then 15 minutes for your questions. If you attend live, you receive a certificate of attendance for 1 CPE credit. The recording earns no credits.

On-demand courses

On-demand courses will earn CPE credits once they open. Until then, you earn credits in live online and in-person sessions.

If your certifying body audits your claim

Send the audit request to validation@quantumacademy.com. We keep attendance records and certificates for seven years, and we confirm your attendance to your certifying body directly.

Renewing a Quantum Academy certification

You renew a Quantum Academy certification with 60 CPE credits in each three-year cycle, with at least 15 in each year. Credits from our courses and webinars count toward that renewal, and we record them for you. You report other activities to validation@quantumacademy.com. The Candidate Guide sets out the renewal rules.

Each certifying body decides which credits it accepts. Quantum Academy is not an approved, accredited or official provider of any certifying body.
