Most budget requests for post-quantum cryptography are written before the cryptographic inventory exists. This tool builds the request from what you know now: the obligations that apply to you, a rough count of your applications, HSMs and endpoints, and the share of the work your refresh budgets already cover. Rough figures are enough for a first pass; the first stage gate replaces them with the inventory’s numbers. If you have no counts yet, load the example and edit it.
We publish the tool with permission from Marin Ivezic and PostQuantum.com, where the original was first released. Our step-by-step walkthrough explains each of the five steps, the cross-checks and the sources behind every number, and it ends with four exercises for course participants. The method follows Phase 0 of the Applied Quantum PQC Migration Framework and Applied Quantum’s 2026 cost benchmarks. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
