Jasmine Sandler

Jasmine Sandler holds a PhD in cryptography and has spent over two decades in security engineering and cryptography. Her research focused on lattice-based cryptography, the mathematical basis of ML-KEM (formerly CRYSTALS-Kyber) and ML-DSA (formerly CRYSTALS-Dilithium), now the NIST standards for key establishment and digital signatures.

She is Principal Cryptographer at Applied Quantum. She sets algorithm selection policy, reviews hybrid constructions and key management designs, and validates the cryptographic assumptions behind client migration roadmaps. That review work is kept apart from delivery execution, so the cryptographer checking a design is never the person who produced it.

She designs quantum-safe cryptographic architectures for large enterprises, including a global cloud service provider. She is also Principal Cryptographer at Cryptosec, a digital asset security and financial crime firm, and she spent six years as principal cryptographer and cryptographic strategist at PQ Defense.

Earlier she was a cybersecurity researcher at IBM. She went on to advise Samsung Electronics on mobility and connected device security, and Huawei on security engineering. She also researched national telecommunications security for the Asian Development Bank and held a research fellowship at the Cyber-Physical Systems Security Institute.

At Quantum Academy, Jasmine teaches the cryptography itself. Her material covers what the lattice schemes do and how their parameters are chosen. It also explains why a hybrid construction is a governance decision as well as a technical one.
