Obada Alia is the Founder and CEO of Qantaris Consulting, an emerging-technology consultancy specialising in quantum-safe transformation, advanced networking, and the integration of research innovations into operational infrastructure.
Before founding Qantaris, Obada was a Vice President and Technical Lead within the Quantum Networking and Security team at JPMorgan Chase’s Global Technology Applied Research division. There, he led the design, validation, and deployment of quantum-safe networking architectures for global financial infrastructure. His work included integrating QKD and PQC with optical transport, MACsec, IPsec, and enterprise key-management systems.
He holds a PhD in Optical and Quantum Communications from the University of Bristol, where he subsequently served as a Senior Research Associate. His research covered quantum–classical network integration, entanglement distribution, QKD coexistence with high-capacity classical traffic, reconfigurable optical networking, and quantum-secured communications. He contributed to major UK and European research programmes.
Through Qantaris, Obada advises governments, financial institutions, technology companies, and critical-infrastructure organisations on quantum-safe strategy, cryptographic migration, secure network architecture, and technology commercialisation. He works across strategic decision-making and technical implementation, helping organisations move from emerging-technology research and experimentation to scalable, commercially viable deployment.
