An eight-hour planning workshop, taught live online in two four-hour sessions for each region, in which banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, custodians and market infrastructure operators draft a post-quantum program plan
CHICAGO, November 5, 2026 – Quantum Academy will teach the Quantum-Safe Financial Services Intensive, an eight-hour workshop for financial institutions planning a post-quantum migration, live online on December 9 and 10, 2026, in two four-hour sessions for each region. Participants in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific meet from 07:00 to 11:00 UTC on both days, and participants in the Americas from 15:00 to 19:00 UTC.
A live online seat costs US$1,499. We designed this intensive for banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, custodians and market infrastructure operators. Participants need no background in cryptography. Quantum Academy recommends sending a mixed group from one institution, with at least one person from third-party risk management, because many of the workshop’s sequencing decisions depend on vendors.
Participants use their institution’s existing governance arrangements, from the three lines of defense to third-party risk management, to organize the program. They also plan work on the transaction links they share with payment networks, market infrastructures and counterparties. In a discovery exercise published on PostQuantum.com, the course author’s team counted more than 30,000 unique cryptographic functions across the nine independent parties in one cross-border payment from a mobile banking app. The team presents the figure as an order of magnitude and not as an industry benchmark.
Participants work from their own records, such as the HSM register, or from a sample bank that Quantum Academy provides. In the first session, they map the estate by business line and who controls each part. They draft a charter and a business case built on the obligations that apply to them, from PCI DSS Requirement 12.3.3 and DORA to NIST IR 8547 and the G7 Cyber Expert Group’s roadmap. They then use existing records to plan the inventory and apply sector-specific risk factors to score the estate.
In the second session, participants classify vendors and register the HSM estate, and map the dates that supervisors, Swift, central banks and counterparties set. They finish by defining workstreams and migration waves, then prepare a year-one plan by quarter with KPIs suitable for board risk committee reporting. The instructor reviews each plan before the session ends.
Participants leave with first versions of the program’s working documents, including an estate map, vendor dependency and HSM registers, an external dependency map and the year-one plan. They also receive the course handbook, a PDF copy of Quantum Ready, Marin Ivezic’s book on PQC migration, and a certificate of completion.
Quantum Academy recommends its Quantum-Safe Financial Services course as preparation, live online for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific on November 12, 2026, though participants can enroll without it. Card issuers, acquirers and processors can take the Quantum-Safe Payments Intensive, live online on November 24 and 25, 2026. Insurers can take the Quantum-Safe Insurance Intensive, live online on June 22 and 23, 2027.
Quantum Academy will also teach the intensive in person, from 09:00 to 17:00 local time, in London on March 3, Dubai on April 6, Zurich on April 14 and New York on May 19, 2027. A seat at any of the four in-person sessions costs US$1,999. Institutions that want to work through confidential detail with only their own colleagues present can book the intensive as private team training at training@quantumacademy.com. The course page has the full outline and a justification letter for internal approval.
